I often get asked how I can paint so well on a tiny surface using nail products. The answer is I’m already pretty decent at painting on large surfaces.
Painting small IS tough though! It takes a lot of patience. I’m a really fast learner, but painting tiny is one of the hardest things I’ve ever tried, but I’m so happy I’m getting good results. I’m really proud of this set, so I’m stoked you all seem to love it!
As I was typing this caption, my boyfriend told me I’m a “multipotentialite.” He said it means someone with many interests and creative pursuits that doesn’t like to stick to one calling but is good at many things as opposed to a “specialist.” I 100% agree with this and I think all my creative interests go hand in hand and continue to assist each other in whatever venture I take on. I guess what I’m saying is, if you want to get better at nail art, or any other art for that matter, it might be a good idea to try something new! Maybe try getting good at painting or sculpting big, so it’ll help you paint or sculpt small. 🖼

The second nail was referenced from a photo of a tattoo provided by my client. I’ll tag the artist when I find out who the tattoo was by. Tag them if you know them! I changed the mask and the face to resemble an image of her face in the manga, but I used the tattoo artist’s kimono & hair style.
I personally haven’t read Tomie yet, but I am always a fan of Junji Ito’s work. 😍 Junji Ito nails always turn out to be my favorite.
